3-9. Closeness of <Do>
"And the basic motion is the
joint that relates man directly to TAEKWONDO. You, training yourself of the
basics, can advance in perfect TAEKWONDO and complete it. Owing to this, everyone
begins his Taekwondo with training of the basics while the man who has gone
through all training returns finally to the last step; the training of basics
again. Although the basic looks simple it is related to every skill and its
system of the entire Taekwondo, so, it includes every principle and technique
of all motions."(Ch.54)
Like this, the basic motion is close to every practitioner. However, "<Do>
lies at hand yet it is sought afar off; the thing lies in the easy yet it is
sought in the difficult."1) What is far from you
is only the splendid and complex motions. Yet the true TAEKWONDO is verily in
the close basic motion.
