7. Kang-Yu

 

7-5. Kang-Yu and Haneul & Tang

Kang seems similar to the way of Saram and Yu seems similar to that of Tang of Samjae. But they are not same in fact. Following the way of Saram is merely preserving what you intend to do, while Kang proceeds more specifically from it to include going against what the opponent intend to do. Therefore, you can follow the wya of Saram through the technique of Kang, whereas it cannot be said you use technique of Kang always following the way of Saram. All the same with Yu. It can be you that is the part of the world in the opposition to your opponent when you follow the way of Tang. In that case, you are using the technique of Kang. In the use of technique of Yu, however, you can follow what he intends to do having him opposed to the world.1)

1) 특히 『주역』에서 강유(剛柔)를 건곤(乾坤)의 괘상(卦象)으로 설명한다. 이 때문에 강유가 삼재의 하늘,땅과 같은 것으로 이해될 가능성이 있다. 하지만 건곤은 각각 양과 음이 6개씩 삼재의 길을 따라서 결합한, 극양(極陽)과 극음(極陰)의 괘상일 뿐이다. 즉 극강과 극유의 상징적인 의미로서 건곤이 대입될 뿐이다. 어쩌면 그래서 그 이름을 `건곤(乾坤)'이라 하여 `천지(天地)'와 달리 표현했는지도 모른다.
