Here we'll discuss some problems and issues on the history of Taekwondo.

Taekwondo is an inherent traditional martial art of Korea, but its ultimate principle is not confined within korean martial arts but embodied in almost every martial arts, at least part by part. This lead us to much disputes on its history. Someone says this martial art came from that one, or another says that one was created according to the model of another martial art.

But, actually, every good martial art comes to have similar forms and contains similar system of principles, for the best system and best principle of martial art is one, i.e. TAEKWONDO. Thus, it can be theorized in an article.(See "Philosophical Principles of Taekwondo") Most martial art embodies its ideal(TAEKWONDO) part by part, sometimes much, but sometimes only a little. And even if TAEKWONDO exists everywhere as one and everyone can understand it with his enlightment each of concrete martial art has developed in different figure, with different name of its own. Therefore it must be natural that everyone forgets the original ideal form and gives the ideal different name. And there emerged much confusion among thought of people about TAEKWONDO and its history.
