Taekwondo is ilgiyae(one technique). You should not try to get several techniques. This is true particularly when you are a beginner. You should get one technique you can trust. Repeat it several hundred thousand times and understand it completely. So you should be able to use it freely. It should be done whenever and wherever, in whatever situation, from your basic instinct. And then grow it. That's all of Taekwondo.
