YangKyo Maek The Function of YangKyo Maek This maek absorbs excess yang energy especially in men and this yang energy is usually accumulated in the head and neck region. The excess yang energy can manifest as stagnation. The symptoms manifest as hemiplegia, aphasia and facial paralysis. These conditions are usually a manifestation of a deficiency of Ki and blood rather than a condition of an excess or deficiency. Excess yang can predispose the patient to such pathology as cerebral thrombosis or hemorrhage and the blood pressure could be normal. The Endocrine systme is affected by this YangKyo Maek throught the pituitary gland. By simulating points on this maek the adrenocorticotrophic hormone is released. The use of this naturla cortisone is much more beneficial than synthetic cortisones and can be used in all cases where cortisone might be applied through Western medicine. When this maek becomes ill the lateral side of the legs and ankles tense and the medial side of the legs and ankles weaken. When the yang is in excess in the head and the yin is deficient there is often insomnia. When the yang is excess there is also angry eyes(red) and the eyes cannot close(insomnia). Pain in the eyes usually begins at the inner conthus. Pain in the Kidney area of the back usually manifest as if one is hit with hammer blows and swelling could appear in this region.
