Bakjae developed Buddhist culture earlier and accepted the cultural influences from Kokuryo and China to improve itw own. So it has some similarities to them and, since Bakjae influenced the old Japan's culture dominantly, you can see more similarities to Bakjae in them again. The art of Bakjae is more soft, elegant and gracious, particularly compared to that of Kokuryo, but most of them were ruined and lost when Bakjae was destroyed by Shilla politically. Presently most arts of Bakjae can be seen in the wall paintings of tombs. The Sonsalli tomb has wall painting of Bakho(white tiger) on its west and Jujak(pheonix) and Ilwol-do(painting of sun and moon) on its south. The Neongsalli tomb also has the Sashindo(painting of four gods) with patterns of clouds and lotus on its ceiling, which tells us it was influenced by Kokyryo and Chinese arts. On the other hand, a Bakjae painter, Insaraah, went to Japan to became the father of Japanese painting, and the prince Ajwa painted the portrait of the prince Shotoku of Japan, which resulted in great influence over the Aska culture of Japan.
