"Bamboo and Tiger" was a joint work with Lim, Hee-chi whose pen name was Soowolkan, palcing bamboo on the upper and tiger on the lower in symmetry manner. Lim painted the bamboo. Lim, hee-chi enjoyed drinking and taught people to play the flute saeng and excelled in painting orchid and bamboo. Once he came out of home, wearing goosefeathered clothes and played the transverse flute hoengjok, people was surprised at his weird behavior and ran away. In this work, we may apreciate the liberal thoughts of Kim and Lim: the bamboo, encompassing the dynamic vigor of the crouching tiger, shows the harmonized atmosphere of rest and motion. This work is open to public for the first time.
