Kenji Midori's Korean name is Mun, Jang Gyu. (See World Karate Organization)He is the present president of Kyokusin Karate. The contents of interview(spoken in Korean and Japanese) is like the following:

(Narration) Mun, Jang Gyu is a Korean, and he is the student of Kyokusin Karate who Oyama(Master Choi) liked most. He is a Korean that lives in Japan, so his nationality is Korea. Master Choi left(died) with an advice for Master Mun, not tobe discouraged.

(Master Mun) Master Choi didn't change his thinking. So he never said the word "naturalization". He hated the word "naturalization". I have also been suggested to be naturalized to get Japanese nationality, but I said that I was impossible, that I would never do it. Then Master Choi(Oyama) said,

"You see, it is not a naturalization. It is not the change of yourself. It is just to get the nationality of Japan. It is just for convenience."

I believe he thought that way for his own survival and existence. He thought his essence had never changed. He said "I changed nothing in me".
