Settled Pattern of Training

In most cases a settled pattern of training can cause many good influences on Students motivation. The settled pattern of training enables students to anticipate what they should do and what they can do. And this pattern reduces the boringness of repetition. As I emphasize often, repetition is much important in training and in improvement of Taekwondo technique.

By a settled pattern of training you as an instructor can afford to think more factors helpful for improvement and motivation. Along the settled pattern the whole training will begin and continue automatically in many parts, so that you dont have to think what you should do and what you have to teach students each step. Instead you can concentration your attention on each student or on what you teach more each time. If you pay attention to each student and correct more thing of their technique or skill they will be more motivated to train themselves. By contrary, without this pattern you will have to think and prepare what you have to teach and practice next step in a training every time. Then you will not be able to think of something else required to make your training more interesting.

Actually, every instructor comes to have his own settled pattern of training. So it may seem we dont have to discuss this matter. But because we consider this very evident we fail to recognize the cause of problems of teaching sometimes. (The case of new instructors) If you begin new class of Taekwondo with new kinds of students, you have to focus on this matter at first: to settle your own pattern of training for them. Naturally you will experience some problem to find and settle best framework of training for the new class, which is unavoidable in most cases. With this conception, you will not be unnecessarily disappointed by your failures or some confusions of the beginning time. Or, this conception will motivate you to search some appropriate training pattern for the new class. (If you have some past experience of troubles to teach new class, you will understand the importance of this concept.)

One notice: the settled pattern is basic element of motivation technique in teaching Taekwondo, but it is not everything. I mean, it would be far easier for you to improve your training to be more interesting and to apply the following techniques of motivation with the settled pattern.

To the contrary, if you fail to motivate your students in training with the following techniques you should reflect the pattern; whether it is reasonable or not.
