The Concept of Bakchigi
Bakchigi refers to the motion of crashing against your opponent with your trunk and head. Many times Bakchigi includes heading attack.
Importance of Bakchigi
This Bakchigi provides you with very powerful attack, and it
is an essential aspect of every attacking motion. In every skill of Taekwondo
you have to keep your mental attitude of approaching, which should cause actual
pushing movement. This is very important. For; the
attack of Taekwondo begins only with moving your mind, you, who follow the way
of Sky with everything kept in its proper place, should hit the opponent with
the whole of yourself in attack. Therefore, you should move and organize all
parts of your body even in a slight motion. (Ch.34 of PPT) The essence of
this moving with whole is Bakchigi.
In the training of Bakchigi you can also get the sense of approaching movement.
Training of Bakchigi
The training focuses on the crash of trunk. For if you get the
way of trunk bakchigi, it is very easy to transfer to heading. And heading is
very dangerous to practice.
The concrete process of Bakchigi is like followings: S --> (1) --> S -->
(2) --> S --> (3) --> S --> (4) -->...








Points of Training
1) Drop your hip at first before you step forth and move hip.
2) Once more emphasis, move your hip and crash with your trunk inclusive of
your hip.
3) Move slow at first and then speed up little by little.
4) When you crash you should breath in deep yet slight.
5) If you move in ideal way, you will not have any pain however strongly you
crash.
