Notification

In most cases your appropriate notification can delete or reduce the degree of boringness of a certain hard training. For an example, suppose you train a basic motion or technique 100 times. If you begin this training without notification how many times you will practice your students will be bored and feel painful to follow up your instruction. Most cases, they will fail to be motivated to practice it after 30 times or a little later.

Notification makes your students to be able to anticipate what will happen to them in the close future. Particularly when you teach and practice basic techniques and motions, especially for beginners or kids, this notification and their anticipation caused by it can reduce their boredness and motivate them very much.

But, some long notification, which can be understood as an explanation, can hurt good mood of training. If you can follow up your students' mental change moment by moment you can know when you should give them a comment about the next step. Your love will improve your ability to recognize it. Therefore, passion is important for instruction.(Passion) Your settled pattern of your everyday training can serve as a sort of notification. (Settled Pattern)

The basic points of good notification are these: (1) you should relate what students want and what they have to train of, (2) you should follow up the flow of their mental change, focussing on what they practiced in the past and what they should do now, (3) you should observe their physical condition with guess of their psychological state.

Maybe, some examples will be helpful for you to understand the effects of this notification.

When I begin several hundred times of repetition of basic motion, I often use this common phrase.

"Now, a point of this training is overcoming yourself."

Or,

"Now we'll practice 100 times of Juchum Seo Momtong Jireugi, which is very hard. Since it is hard you can take a rest if you find it necessary. You have always chance to take a rest."

Or,

"You should not be forced by me in any kind of training. You should be forced by only yourself. I, as a Master, just help you to overcome yourself. If you desire to take a rest in training, do it. But if you can practice with us, let's cheer up."

Or,

"The next training is very hard, hard not only for you but also for me. Although it is hard it is unavoidable thing for development. Let's try it, with me."

and so on.

Notifications serves as cheering up, but they serves as good explanation or corrections on the other hand. (Correction)
